Nausea

There’s no secret you don’t know
Whispers linger in your ear
No lie you haven’t told
A talent for turning smiles into tears
Watch the smoldering sun grow cold
Wasted hours turn into years
Feeding your insatiable appetites
Sinking below the surface of your fears
In the darkness of the night
You were caught kissing the brazen moon
Getting drunk on your own derision
Sitting in seductive silence
Carving out your soul with a rusty spoon
The morning light hurts your eyes
As you stumble down the street
Talking to strangers
Looking for a place to sleep
Trying to quench your thirst in the salty sea
Throwing up
Choking on your apathy
Trapped in an empty room
You see a way out
But you swallowed the key
Take the bus out of town
There’s some place you’d rather be
Find yourself in a crowd
Among the broken hearts and empty faces
Tainted hope and desperation
The familiarity of strangers
Creating new expressions of confession
Murder your inhibitions
Testing the limits of gravity
Crossing the borders of reality
Your heart racing down the freeway
Taking no exit
Finding no destination
