Butterfly Effect

Butterfly Effect

The world is spinning fast
Lose my grip trying to hold on
See the future become the past
You can do everything right and still be wrong
They say if you work hard all your dreams will come true
But ya know that’s not the truth for me and you

Love
Burns up like a shooting star
Falling from the sky
Love
Shines like a million diamonds
Buried in the darkness of your eyes
Love
Leaves us aching and torn apart
Like a wounded butterfly

Sometimes my conscience gets to be a drag
The things I really want I can’t ever seem to have
Don’t talk about the progress of the human race
Life is full of flavor but I can’t afford a taste
You know I’m trying hard to change
But it’s so easy just to stay the same

Love
Burns up like a shooting star
Falling from the sky
Love
Shines like a million diamonds
Buried in the darkness of your eyes
Love
Leaves us aching and torn apart
Like a wounded butterfly

I feel like I commit some sort of crime
Every time I get these feelings deep inside
I’ve been reading between the lines
But ya know it’s like the lame trying to lead the blind
Out of rhyme and out of reach
It gets hard to practice what I preach
Driving all night down a road that never ends
Close my eyes to dream again

You’re the chaos
You’re the chaos
Chaos in my soul
Don’t let me go
You’re the light and the darkness
Joy filled with sadness
Nails on my skin
Nails pounded in
Don’t let me go
You’re the light and the darkness
In my soul

Love
Burns up like a shooting star
Falling from the sky
Love
Shines like a million diamonds
Buried in the darkness of your eyes
Love
Leaves us aching and torn apart apart
Like a wounded butterfly
